WHEN IS NERVE EXTRACTION NECESSARY?

HOW IS THE NERVE EXTRACTION PROCEDURE PERFORMED?

The nerve extraction process is done through several stages

• Extract the pulp of the dental nerve that has been completely damaged or inflamed from inside the tooth.
• Clean the area around it in the cavity of the tooth.
• Fill the tooth and seal it well.

STEPS OF THE NERVE EXTRACTION PROCESS

• The damaged tooth is x-rayed, to determine the shape of the root canal and to find out if there is inflammation on the inside of the tooth or the area around it.
• The patient undergo local anesthesia (which may not be needed by all patients).
• A special rubber tool is placed around the tooth to isolate it from the rest of the jaw and protect it from exposure to saliva that may contain bacteria, in order to protect the tooth from any contamination during the process of pulling and cleaning the nerve.
• The doctor cuts open the tooth with a special drill until it reaches the root canal and the damaged nerve pulp.
• The doctor removes the nerve pulp from the inside and cleans the root canal well using special tools.
• A special filling with a rubber-like texture is prepared to fill the cavity of the root canal before closing the root canals that have been treated with a special material. and of course, after taking all necessary internal measurements of the root canal.
• Then the tooth crown is installed, especially in cases where the tooth has completely eroded. manufacturing and installing the tooth crown may take several days or weeks until the laboratory technician prepares the tooth after taking its measurements.

MAXILLARY SINUS LIFT SURGERY

The success of dental implants depends on the density of the bones in the treated area. Decreased bone density and quality are usually due to infection or injury. However, thanks to the techniques that exist today dentists can increase the width and length of the bones. We fill the damaged parts and the anatomical cavities (eg the maxillary sinus) and then prepare the area for transplantation. The dentist will analyze the results of your examination and x-rays and tell you whether you need a bone graft before the operation. which is very important.

REASONS FOR PERFORMING OPEN AND CLOSED SINUS LIFT

• the presence of a gap between tooth extraction and dental implants. an incomplete chain, making the load on the jaw unevenly distributed, which is why bone depletion occurs.
• Wearing long removable dentures.

In the presence of one or more of the listed factors, the patient is prescribed a sinus lift. There are two types of this operation: closed and open. The choice between them depends on the complexity of the problem.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CLOSED AND OPEN SINUS LIFT?

open and closed sinus lifts are different procedures. They are similar only in the process itself and the indicators of the process.

The difference lies in the thickness of the bone tissue, if full dental implants have 4 mm of bone, the patient is initiated to a closed procedure. This technique is also used when in simultaneous implantation  when restoration begins immediately after tooth extraction.

BONE GRAFTING PROCESS

Orthopedic implants are used when you need more bone for dental implants, it is a procedure performed to replace bone loss in the jaw to stabilize the teeth using one or more different bone grafting options.

Dental surgeries (also known as implant surgeries) may require Orthopedic implants which is a very safe and successful surgical procedure replacing lost bone in the jaw, mouth, face and growth in the upper jaw.

Why are jawbones lost?

• Bones can be lost when not used regularly or as a result of infection or trauma.
• A natural process called atrophy, or resorption, can lead to bone loss or gradual shrinkage due to the lack of chewing stimulation when a gap is left after tooth loss.
• Resorption also occurs with normal aging, injury, periodontal (gum) disease, and wearing traditional dentures.
• The pressure of the dentures on the gums during chewing reduces the blood supply, which may also increase the rate of bone loss.

WHEN IS A JAW BONE TRANSPLANT NECESSARY?

Receding bone due to tooth loss:

• When a tooth is lost or removed, the bone that held the tooth in place begins to deteriorate and get absorbed (absorbed back into the body).
• The more teeth are missing, the more bone loss can occur over time

HOW IS THE JAW IMPLANT PROCEDURE PERFORMED?

• Jaw bone implants can be performed using either the patient’s natural bone from inside the mouth or using an artificial bone material.
• Bone grafting material is used to build or add to any areas of the naturally thin or loose bone and this will rebuild the height and thickness of the jawbone.
• The graft material not only replaces the lost bone but also helps in bone regeneration.
• Over time, the bone graft material will harden and integrate with your normal bone, promoting new bone growth and improving bone density. The new bone growth will strengthen the grafted area by creating a bridge between the existing bone and the graft.
• Over time, the newly formed bone will replace many of the grafts.
• Depending on your specific case, we will use either particle grafting material, bulk grafts, or both.
• The jawbone implant material is wrapped around an area with insufficient bone, while the grafts are fixed to the jawbone.
• We will also generally use an absorbable membrane to aid in bone regeneration

DOES JAW BONE IMPLANTS AFFECT THE DURATION OF DENTAL IMPLANT TREATMENT?

• A simple jawbone implant can be performed on the same day the implant is placed. Usually, a jawbone implant is performed months before the implant is inserted, and this usually increases the length of your treatment.
• In cases where the bone graft required is more extensive, the implants will not be placed until after the grafted bone (osteosynthesis) has fused with the existing bone, and after the graft, you can expect to wait four to six months for the bone to build successfully.
• The timing will also depend on the location of the implant and bone density, and when complete, temporary teeth, such as a denture or bridge, can be worn, so there is no gap while you wait for the new bone to grow.
